“Phil is everything you want in a DJ,
plus a whole bunch of stuff you didn’t realize you wanted.”
The Wedding You’ve Always Wanted
If you are like me, music is an important and integral part of my life. I always look forward to the music at the wedding. Its a chance to truly bring people together. There is singing, dancing, laughing, and pure joy.
As your wedding DJ, I hope to curate your night from start to finish. I want to play the songs you want to hear and skip the ones you don’t. Leading up to the big day, we will be in contact to accomplish just that.
What Do I Offer?
-
The Music
The basic yet quintessential part of your evening is the music. We will curate a list of songs you want to hear as well as songs and genres you want to avoid.
The music doesn’t just have to happen at the end of the night either. I can play songs during the ceremony, cocktail hour, and dinner as well.
-
Audio Equipment & MCing
If you are in need of audio equipment such as speakers and microphones, I can provide these for your ceremony or speeches.
As an added bonus, I can also be your MC after the ceremony to facilitate your evening and keep it moving along.
-
Live Mixing
When it comes time to hit the dance floor, I will be mixing on my DJ controller so the music rarely stops. It will sound better than someone just hitting play on a playlist.
I have a great list of songs to pull from and remixes of songs that you’ve never heard before.
Testimonial
“Phil is everything you want in a DJ, plus a whole bunch of stuff you didn’t realize you wanted.
There is some debate about which wedding vendor is “secretly” the most important, but I am inclined to believe it’s the DJ. A good DJ is at the heart of the wedding, managing the music (and the microphone) for the ceremony, reception, and dancing-- and is integral to the charm of the entire event. Phil is a really good DJ.
Phil was incredibly attentive. He was professional, forward-thinking, and self-motivated. He met with us well ahead of time to discuss our taste in music, and what we were thinking for the event. He was great in the planning phase, and he was exceptional on the day-of.
You can plan as much as you want, but when it comes down to it: the day of the wedding will be hectic, and it will fly by. You learn to appreciate two things:
1. People that are organized and autonomous
2. People that can handle the last-minute curveballs
Phil did both incredibly well.
Phil started setting up at our venue literally as soon as it opened (without us requesting it). He planned ahead everywhere he could, including helping us spot some gaps in our schedule. He asked for pronunciation guides on all of the names he would be reading. He brought his own earplugs for anyone that wanted them. He learned all of timing and scheduling that we had planned-- but then also flawlessly adapted to live tweaks. I had five or six random day-of requests that I was able to quickly delegate, and he handled them perfectly. He was simply automatic. That comfort is invaluable.
In the music department, just like the professionalism department, Phil gets top marks. We had given him fairly loose directions: Some classic pop-ish wedding songs, some songs we definitely wanted to hear, some songs we definitely didn’t, some “inspiration” songs. Later in the night we wanted to transition to an EDM vibe for the people still tearing up the dance floor. He took what we gave him and really ran with it.
It was an awesome set. Great selection, great progression. He found a way to breathe life into some otherwise un-danceable songs, took as many requests as we wanted him to, and gave us an absolutely wonderful evening of music. Not just some simple playlist, he made us our own custom set that he drew from over the course of the night-- one which we were able to download and keep! We still will listen to it periodically, and it is one of my most cherished mementos from the wedding.
Phil was an absolute pleasure to work with, and I cannot recommend him enough.”
